Job Summary/Basic Function

About This Role:

This position is responsible for developing, executing, and coordinating the strategic marketing initiatives aligned with the College of Business (CoB) and supporting other university marketing initiatives. This position will lead recruiting and marketing efforts for undergraduate and graduate programs within the College of Business including K-12 outreach and recruitment initiatives.

What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:

Serve as the marketing liaison and lead for recruiting activities and initiatives for the College of Business.

Take lead in coordinating College of Business special events and activities, such as Week of Welcome, Business Week, Guest Lecturers and Presenters, and Student/Faculty Awards and Scholarship events.

Take lead in promotion of all College of Business and Student Success programs and offerings, such as Passport events, 7 Habits events, and student organization events.

Serve as point person for all College of Business student organizations and the College of Business Student Advisory Council events.

Coordinate the promotion of College of Business advising campaigns and other scheduled student success events, as appropriate.

Work with the College of Business on branding and messaging strategies for undergraduate and graduate programs through targeted research while complying with overarching universities’ strategies.

Seek out and assist in coordinating recruitment activities with the directors and chairs of College of Business programs and departments. Specifically, University Fall and Spring open house events, College Recruiting Events, Summer Programs and Admitted Student Day Events.

Work closely with the Office of Admissions in recruiting prospective students interested in programs in the College, to include various outreach practices and work within the University CRM (Slate).

Together with the university’s marketing division, develop enrollment templates and procedures to promote programs and departments.

Coordinate and manage social media platforms presenting a cohesive presence for the university and College of Business

Perform the role of college web liaison by updating and maintaining College of Business website; providing training and support in the content management system for other users in the college.

Implement website changes in line with web accessibility and search engine optimization standards.

Communicate effectively with college subject matter experts to develop content for recruiting purposes.

Write and distribute news releases as necessary to highlight students, faculty, staff, events and other notable promotions for departments and programs within the college. · Work with other marketing coordinator liaisons to coordinate joint activities and share related information and best practices.

Work with the Office of Alumni Affairs to promote College of Business products to graduates of Lamar University.

Seek out recruitment opportunities with the directors and chairs of CoB programs and departments.

Ensure compliance with AACSB requirement on publication of school performance, including student achievement, enrollment and graduation rates.

Provides support in the creation of all PowerPoint presentations ensuring that all messaging is consistent and up to date.

Perform other duties as assigned

Excellent Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite skills.

Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

Works in an office environment for 6 to 8 hours

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements.

Regularly use desktop and/or laptop computer.

Occasional lifting, pushing, climbing, and pulling may be required. Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.

Occasionally lift 10-15 pounds

Job Conditions:

Office environment with controlled temperature. Moderate exposure to noise.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communication or related field.

Minimum one to two years of work experience in sales, marketing, communications, or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Two to three years of professional, full-time work experience related to marketing and communications involving client or student engagement.

Experience in higher education recruitment, admissions and/or marketing and communications.

Experience managing projects and working within time constraints.

Knowledge of Adobe CS Suite and HTML
