Job SummaryThe SCD Fellow in Programming will be given the opportunity to learn and apply design thinking and human-centered design through a full-time, year-long appointment focused on programming initiatives. This program allows Fellows to engage in multidisciplinary projects and courses with University and external partners. The role is designed to integrate design thinking concepts into real-world projects, courses, and activities, and is open to individuals from diverse backgrounds and career stages, from recent graduates to those with significant work experience. Duties & ResponsibilitiesSupport programming initiatives such as the resident program through human-centered design. Engage with the student organization audience to understand their needs and help build out the program accordingly.Lead workshops for resident groups and SCD student team members on utilizing human-centered design and design thinking in their work.Assist in managing design projects related to SCD programming, ensuring alignment with human-centered design principles.Lead workshops for resident groups and SCD student team members on utilizing human-centered design and design thinking in their work.Assist in managing design projects related to SCD programming, ensuring alignment with human-centered design principles.Research and Design ConsultingParticipate in conducting research and other activities associated with the Illinois Design Consulting program.Apply design thinking and human-centered design to a variety of projects, incorporating design research, strategy, concept development, and implementation.Contribute to project scoping and project management to ensure deadlines and deliverables are met. Maintain regular communication with project sponsors and stakeholders.Liaison and SocializationServe as a liaison between the Assistant Director of Programming & Marketing, other full-time SCD staff, Fellows, and the Concierge student staff to ensure effective implementation of SCD programming policies and initiatives.Represent SCD at meetings, conferences, and related events. Assist with SCD activities by serving on committees, giving presentations, and leading workshops.Perform administrative tasks for projects, including scheduling and preparing for meetings, writing and editing communication and project documents, and other duties as needed.Minimum Qualifications
