We welcome candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.**Description**Responsible for developing, deploying, and managing comprehensive strategic communications and marketing activities that effectively advance the mission and vision of Emory College of Arts and Sciences (ECAS) and Emory University.In alignment with Emory's institutional communications and marketing efforts, defines a comprehensive, integrated communications and marketing strategy for Emory College and manages day-to-day activities to drive this strategy. Includes managing brand image and messaging across various channels, including web, social media, and print.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Serves as primary strategist with the ECAS Dean and ECAS administration as it relates to marketing and communications. Oversees executive communications, including talking points, scripts, written communications, and presentations for the Dean and others as required.+ Builds and leads a high-performing team focused on advancing a communications and marketing strategy; may include professionals ranging from writers, editors, and designers to event management.+ Oversees issues management for ECAS, including crisis communications, working in close coordination with central communications and marketing.+ Provides crisis communications and media relations support to the Dean and ECAS leadership, as well as academic leads within ECAS. Oversees the development and maintenance of ECAS-wide crisis communications plans and leads training exercises with college leadership to develop external messaging for ECAS.+ Develops deep knowledge of faculty scholarship, student excellence, and programmatic priorities, including signature events, within Emory College; drives messaging for these priorities with internal and external audiences, including through close work with Advancement and Alumni Engagement.+ Collaborates closely with Emory University Communications & Marketing (C&M) and Emory's Vice President for Communications & Marketing to ensure alignment with university strategy, messaging, and branding.+ Contributes leadership to C&M as a senior communicator of Emory's largest undergraduate school.+ Establishes and maintains relationships with media contacts and maintains an awareness of media coverage of ECAS and Emory University.+ Oversees public relations efforts on behalf of ECAS and ensure alignment with university efforts and standards. Performs related responsibilities as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:+ Bachelor's degree and seven years of communications experience or a master's degree with five years of communications experience. Higher education experience preferred.ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:+ Candidates are encourgarged to provide a cover letter and 2-3 writing samples that demonstrate ability to write for different audiences.NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA.
