Technical WriterJob DescriptionThe primary function of the Technical Writer is to develop and maintain product manuals, specifications, and how-to guides. This role involves preparing clear and effective documentation on systems, hardware, and software that supports both technical and marketing teams during customer interactions. The Technical Writer will report to the Lead Technical Writer and is expected to achieve several key objectives including developing comprehensive documentation that adheres to organizational standards, translating complex product information into simple and engaging content, and continuously improving current content with innovative approaches.Must Have+ Active Secret ClearanceSkills & QualificationsREQUIREMENTS• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures• Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail• Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and createvisuals and diagrams for technical support content• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization• Excellent written skills in English• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)• Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for converting documents to PDF and bookmarkingEDUCATION AND SKILLS• Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical field• 5-10 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writerHighly desired:o Experience in electrical / electronic fieldso Experience with AutoCado Experience with Photoshopo Experience with FrameMakero Experience developing Mil-Spec documentation and IETMso Experience with Simplified Technical EnglishWork SiteThis is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Dallas, Texas and some days remote.Work EnvironmentManufacturing / Office settingAbout ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
