JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, HR Communications will support leadership in implementing the overall HR Communication strategy. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of key messages in support of various HR initiatives. Working closely with HR leaders, this position will act as counsel to align communications needs with overall strategy, develop content in consultation with HR SMEs, and adhere to brand objectives. With oversight from Vice President, HR Communications, develops and executes comprehensive communications plans on a wide variety of HR initiatives, managing several projects simultaneously. By developing innovative communications solutions, helps mass or targeted audiences understand and appreciate the benefits and programs that Charter provides as a means to maintain employee engagement and retention, while enhancing employees’ perceptions of working at and having a career with Charter.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, implement and drive HR communication strategy under the direction of Vice President, HR Communications.

Develop, edit, proofread and/or review various communication materials (print and digital) for style, understanding and consistency in messaging with other communications materials.

Create or oversee the development of deliverables designed to educate employees on the various tools, resources and programs that the company provides for employees and their families.

Partner with HR subject matter experts to develop and implement communication and change management strategies that support HR initiatives.

Primary areas of focus include:

Maintain and enhance communication materials and tools for new hires, including the new hire orientation presentation, targeted email communications throughout the first year of employment and online checklists and journeys.

Continue promotion and support of “investing in you” messaging across existing communication channels, including employee storytelling.

Develop and maintain monthly toolkits to help people leaders and HR support program education locally, including talk points, PowerPoint presentations and digital screens.

Promote career growth and development by showing employees their path forward through stories, online content and resources.

Support business unit HR-communication efforts on an as needed basis.

Perform other duties as assigned by Vice President, HR Communications to support HR communication programs, campaigns, and initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret data related to complex concepts and summarize them into clear and concise content in a conversational tone.

Thrives on collaboration and teamwork while also being able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to own and support content development, design, review, and approval for communications initiatives—managing a project from conception to completion.

Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly

Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.

Integrity, sound judgment, and out-of-the-box thinking are a must with the passion to add value through strong networks and collaboration with all colleagues

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.

Experience with digital platforms and an understanding of how to maximize their effectiveness. Experience in Adobe Experience Cloud preferred. Expert level skill in MS Office package (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Knowledge of AP Style is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree in related field (Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations) is required

Related Work Experience

7-10 years in HR Communications, Employee Communications or Internal communications

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office environment with hybrid available
