About the Team

The Platform Content, Marketing, & Partnerships organization is looking for a seasoned Associate Communications Director. In this role, you will oversee the consumer facing communication strategy and execution for our software products and content offering. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on execution to effectively convey our SW product and content offerings, elevate our brand presence and recognition, and engage with our diverse customer base. You will collaborate closely with product development, marketing, content teams, PR agencies, and media to ensure cohesive and impactful messaging across all channels.The Associate Director will report to the Group VP, Platform & Content Partnerships.This is a full-time position based in Irvine, CA.

What You Will Do

Strategic Communication Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for VIZIO software products and content offerings, including VIZIO's owned and operated service, WatchFree+.Align communication plans with VIZIO's overall brand strategy and business goals.Identify target audience segments and tailor messaging accordingly.

Content Creation and Management:

Lead the creation of compelling content, including press releases, product announcements, blog posts, social media content, and more.Oversee content calendars to ensure timely, coordinated, and relevant communication across all channels.Collaborate with the design teams to produce engaging visuals and videos.

Media and Public Relations:

Manage VIZIO's consumer PR agency relationships.Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and industry influencers.Coordinate and manage media outreach, interviews, and press events.Monitor media coverage and industry trends to proactively address potential communication challenges.

Product Communication:

Work closely with SW product management and development teams to understand product features and benefits.Translate technical information into clear, consumer-friendly messaging.Develop and manage product launch communication plans.Work with internal HW public relations team to convey HW PR needs to PR agency.

Internal Communication:

Ensure all internal stakeholders are informed about communication plans and key product updates.Collaborate with the internal communications team to align external messaging with internal narratives.

Measurement and Analysis:

Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication efforts using relevant metrics.Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership.Adjust strategies based on performance data to improve future communication efforts.

About You

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in communications, with a focus on consumer technology products and/or the entertainment

For California-based employment:

The minimum salary for this position is $130,000/year. The maximum salary for this position $168,000/year. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for an annual bonus, as well as equity and a range of medical, dental, vision and other benefits.
