Our growing team maintains an entrepreneurial mindset with a shared goal to solidify our position as the leading technology provider in the HMI and Industrial Controls market.Job DescriptionHelp lead digital design of embedded touch screens for B2B clients and other UIs, working collaboratively with client project stakeholders and cross-functional internal teams to take a project from concept to implementation through research, analysis, prototyping, testing, and visual design, while ensuring the customers' view remains the focus. This multidiscipline position requires a systems-savvy person who is an educated user experience architect with strong visual design skills.Use a user-centered design process, understanding real users’ goals, aptitudes, behaviors, needs, motivations, use-contexts, environment, and task flows. Success in this role means finding the harmony between users’ needs and desires, business goals and objectives, and a product’s technical capabilities. You’ll play a key role in synthesizing industry experts’ insights and customer needs into intuitive design that transforms requirements into elegant solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign intuitive and compelling experiences and UIs across multiple products and platforms from assessing a project’s scope to executing design, including defining features, presenting and iterating design prototypes, and addressing customer feedbackCollaborate with B2B clients and project stakeholders to build experiences for touch screen based products and equipment, ensuring design quality and continuity standards as well as project requirements are metSynthesize project requirements, business goals, industry insights, and user research to define product features and information architecture through journey mapping, storyboarding, user scenarios, wireframing, prototyping, and testingContinuously engage with software engineers, project managers, and QA throughout the development process to ensure effective implementation and high quality user experiences, sharing design and customer insights to inform development approaches and resolve issues, as well as directly supporting the initial build phase through the use of WYSIWYG development tools such as QT or CrankActively initiate user research, testing, and other UX initiatives to effectively center design on user needs and insights vs. assumptions, including but not limited to focus groups, on-site observational research, usability testing, and thorough product discoveryStrategize and execute on company design/process/management initiatives in collaboration with various departments and teams to contribute to long term company growth, branding, and customer experienceQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Product Design, or a related field of studyA proactive and creative problem solver with a deep understanding of UX/UI design patterns and strategies and their effect on the end user experience, with ability to gauge when/where/how to execute them in a way that optimizes design impactA well-rounded, hands-on user-centered designer with the ability to lead and execute UX activities with a lean, agile approach, taking a project from user research, ideation, design, prototyping, to testingHas a robust UX toolset, using a variety of UX methodologies to define problem scopes, guide design strategies, and optimize task flows, such as content auditing, stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, storyboarding, user scenarios, wireframing, etc.Strong communication skills with the ability to present designs, solutions, and strategies to various stakeholders in a clear and compelling wayAt least 5+ years of working experience using collaborative prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch; proficiency in Adobe Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with WYSIWYG development support tools such as QT or Crank is a plusBenefitsHealth Insurance (includes mental health coverage)Dental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k)Paid Time Off
