The mission of Closed-loop Monetization team is to empower commerce merchants of all sizes to grow their business efficiently within TikTok's closed-loop ecosystems.
We are looking for talented Machine Learning Engineers to join us for an internship in 2024. Internships at TikTok aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below:May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).
Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.
Online AssessmentCandidates who pass resume evaluation will be invited to participate in TikTok's technical online assessment in HackerRank.
Responsibilities:Apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to optimize advertisers' marketing strategies.Connect with businesses directly to understand and develop solutions for their Jobs-to-be-done.Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other disciplines to explore the next generation of shopping experiences on TikTok.Capitalize on the organic shopping behaviors on TikTok today and facilitate retentive behaviors to provide more people value and business value.
QualificationsCurrently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.Experience with coding in Python, Java, Golang, C#, or C++.Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred QualificationsGraduating December 2024 onwards with intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship.Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Job Information:[For Pay Transparency]The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $60. We cover 100% premium coverage for Full-Time intern medical insurance after 90 days from the date of hire. Medical coverage only, no dental or vision coverage.Our time off and leave plans are: Paid holidays and paid sick leave. The sick leave entitlement is based on the time you join.We also provide mental and emotional health benefits through our Employee Assistance Program and provide reimbursements for your mobile phone expense.
