Purpose of position is to serve as a Security Forces Training Officer and to coordinate, implement, and provide training for Security Forces at Air Force Plant 42, a Government Owned-Contractor Operated industrial facility, 412th Test Wing Operating Location Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, CA. Serves as the focal point for the security forces training program, coordinating and implementing all training activities for the unit. Ensures that all training program measures and actions taken comply with federal, DoD, Air Force, MAJCOM, and local rules, directives, instructions, requirements, and procedures. Conducts training classes for security forces personnel. Prepares lesson plans and teaches formal or informal training courses for personnel in various Security Forces functional activities in accordance with AFls and DoD policy. Develops and monitors the accomplishment of security forces training plans and obtains and develops training aids and materials. Attends, arranges, and conducts meetings, briefings, and workshops and performs other duties related to Security Forces training. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Security Administration Series positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is coordinate, implement, and provide training. Plans, develops, coordinates, schedules, accomplishes, and/or monitors various unit training activities to include military and civilian individuals. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of a range of security forces policies, procedures, and practices. Knowledge of overall security forces missions, functions, and structure. Skill in developing course materials and instructional methods, principles, and techniques. Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch/section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Knowledge of applicable law enforcement and security AF, Federal and DoD rules, regulations, instructions, practices, principles and procedures including force protection, integrated base defense, anti-terrorism and physical security. Desired Skills: 2 years of experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ability to conduct formal or informal presentations 2 years of experience with writing, formatting, and coordinating Department of Defense and Air Force plans or equivalent.
