**9050BR****Position Title:**Assistant Dean College of Art & Design**Organization:**CAD Dean's Office**Job Responsibilities:**Leadership Responsibilities:•Participates in monthly meetings for Dean’s Leadership; and Dean’s School Directors as needed•Member of CAD’s Policy Committee—participates in weekly meetings during the academic year; recommends new policies and guidelines; and participates on appropriate subcommittees to draft language•Represents CAD at RIT College Liaison (CL) meetings for faculty recruitment ensuring the Dean and School Directors are informed of any policy/process changes and ongoing events aimed at recruiting diverse faculty•Implements changes in processes and procedures as needed to enhance operational efficiencies, and maintain adherence to RIT’s current policies and procedures•Provides analysis and recommendations to Dean assisting in college strategic decisions•Responsible for oversight of all HR processes•Compliance: Oversees employees’ timely completion of Conflict of Interest (COI) and assigned training courses•Accreditation: Compiles data to complete annual NASAD HEADS DATA Survey•Conducts annual or bi-annual evaluation of the Leadership Team by faculty and staff•Oversees internal school director searchesHuman Resources Activities: Leads all Human Resources initiatives for the college while ensuring policies and procedures are followed:•Hires new staff members and manages onboarding•Leads the employee departure process•Oversees and manages the lecturer renewal process•Oversight/review of replacement and new hire requests with CAD Financial Partner•Analyzes PCNs and Leadership’s hiring requests to develop strategic options for the Dean and reconciles monthly•Oversight of staff recruitment processes•Oversight of faculty recruitment processes, including:o FFCEP processes and Pathways to RIT: art and design edition, in conjunction with the Office of Faculty Diversity and Recruitment (OFDR), the Dean, and the School Directorso Communicates regularly with search committee chairs on search statuso Prepares mid-search review and pre-offer approval paperwork for Dean and Provost Office signatureso Ensures faculty recruitment files are appropriately maintained•Communicates regularly with CAD Operations/CADTech related to computer and office space needs for employees•Reviews new and re-evaluated JDQs and coordinates with HR Business Partner and HR Compensation•Oversees and manages the processing of EAFs and position requisitions•Oversight/guidance and review of all new hire offer letters and annual salary/ merit increase notification letters (faculty and staff) for accuracy•Provides oversight/guidance on contracts for unique hires by working with HR, Academic Affairs, and the Payroll Office (i.e., PT employees, international faculty, staff teaching as adjuncts)•Compiles annual diversity hiring statistics for Dean and tracks year-over-year•Manages and communicates annual Staff Performance Appraisal process; ensures management signatures and forwards to HR•Creates annual holiday PTO worksheet for each part-time staff memberSupervision:•Leadership for four fulltime staff members: staff assistant, senior staff specialist, administrative assistant II, and senior financial assistant•Annual written performance appraisal of each direct report•Bi-weekly Kronos timecard review and sign-off; backup for other managers as neededPayroll:•Liaison to Payroll on salary/wage matters. The position implements process changes to enhance operational efficiencies, provides strategic analysis and recommendations to the Dean, and manages accreditation data compilation and reporting. Additionally, the Assistant Dean spearheads CAD's Human Resources initiatives, including faculty and staff recruiting, hiring, onboarding, lecturer renewals, staff performance appraisals, and ensuring strict adherence to policies and procedures.
