We seek talented, creative professionals to join us.You will be part of a team that documents a portfolio of mobile apps. These apps allow critical communications between nurses, doctors, and other patient-facing clinical staff, directly impacting healthcare delivery across the United States, and empowering our hospital customers to do great things.This Senior Technical Writer position reports to the Technical Documentation Manager and is a key position on the Product Team.ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Technical Writer is responsible for:+ Writing, updating, and delivering a clean / lean documentation set for mobile software apps. Audience is external and internal.+ Documentation set includes user guides, quick starts, online help, changelogs, internal procedures, implementation / API guides, and other docs ad hoc. Some initiatives are release driven and some are longer term.+ Writing / authoring tools include MadCap Flare and Word. Outputs from these tools may include Word, PDF, HTML, and online help. Output synchronization is powered by GoodSync.+ Delivery: Repositories include WordPress (customer portal), SharePoint, Git, MadCap Central, and Azure cloud.+ Executing large documentation projects across the product portfolio self-sufficiently.+ Contributing to documentation strategy, planning, and execution at a high level (across all products).+ Determining documentation and single-sourcing strategy at the project level (based on project needs, time available, audience).+ Ensuring consistency of branding and styles.+ Serving as an SME for product behavior and for the doc set (what is documented where).+ Taking the lead on MadCap documentation, changelogs, repositories, and related problem solving.+ Updating system architecture diagrams via Adobe Illustrator ad hoc.+ Updating corporate Intranet content via Flare ad hoc.+ Mentoring technical writers (I, II, III) and contractors.Required Skills, Education and Experience+ Software: Basic or better MadCap Flare skills or certification. Flare experience is important for this position, as the doc strategy includes single-sourcing / DITA and relevant variables. Experience with Microsoft Word. Good at taking screen captures.+ Writing: Technical writing experience for external and internal audiences in a software environment.+ Can analyze and distill documentation project needs from multiple sources into clear documentation:+ Transform a new software product into a new procedural user guide, including the relevant project management skills.+ Update existing user guides with a new feature set.+ Build or update internally-facing API guides and other internal controlled docs.+ You are a talented writer with strong attention to detail and a track record of delivering documentation in many outputs.+ Time management: Detail oriented, highly efficient, can roll with rapid changes in a complex environment, self-motivated, do not need deadline hand-holding. Skilled at multi-tasking.+ Communication: Ability and willingness to collaborate verbally and in writing with SMEs and senior leadership org-wide on a daily basis. Hunt answers ad hoc.+ Relationship skills. Ability to develop long-term positive working relationships.+ Education: College degree.
