Job Title: Mechanical Product DesignerJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Product Designer who will be responsible for running design for assembly, manufacturing, and testing for an MC3 Corrector. The product is currently in the mature design stage. The successful candidate will utilize CAD software, primarily Creo, to create and revise detailed drawings, including machining, assembly, general arrangement, labels, and wiring diagrams. Moreover, this role involves designing for improvement to enhance assembly ease and increase volume. The designer will also be responsible for running tests for the end client, interfacing with assemblers and technicians, and managing technical spec compliance.
Hard Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in designing in a high volume manufacturing environment (2,000-5,000 units)
Proficiency in Creo
Experience in GD&T (putting correct symbols on drawings to show design intent)
Soft Skills
Ability to interface effectively with assemblers and technicians
Ability to manage technical spec compliance
Ability to run tests for the end client
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Houston, Texas.
Work Environment
The position is based in an on-site office environment and will be part of a team of 5 designers.
