Senior Reprographics Technician

works in a production capacity using a variety of computer, copying, digital press, and bindery equipment to produce jobs for our customers. The technician is expected to produce high quality work within established timeframes with general supervision.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $19.77 - $26.62 (Hourly Rate).To learn more about the benefits of working at UCSF, including total compensation, please visit: UCSF BenefitsDepartment DescriptionThe Documents & Media (DM) offers a broad range of graphics communications services to UCSF faculty, staff, and students. Major areas include, but are not limited to, desk-top publishing, typesetting, offset printing, photocopying, electronic printing, print brokering, and forms management. The cost of individual jobs can run from $5.00 to $100,000.Production is located at MCB 1855 Folsom Street. Print production averages up to 50 different jobs due every working day. Each of the jobs is custom in that it may have a different set of technical specifications and customer requirements. Many of the jobs require multiple production processes including design or typesetting, pre-press, press, and bindery work. Additionally, some jobs may require sending out all or part of the job to one of our pre-selected print or copy partners.DM handles a high volume of photocopying and bindery work in a rapid turnaround time. Currently, there are three major sites for production: Parnassus Campus, MCB, and Mission Bay. We have drop-off and pick-up sites at these locations.Required QualificationsGraduation from high school and one year of experience in the operation of offset duplicating equipment and/or bindery equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid California (CA) Driver's License subject to California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) program review, with no restrictions other than corrective lenses.Preferred QualificationsBasic experience in the operation and maintenance of a variety of offset and/or direct impression reproduction equipment, digital printing and copying, and bindery equipment.
