Position Summary

The Vice President of Marketing and Communications is a critical role at United Way of Palm Beach County (UWPBC), overseeing the agency's brand management and helping lead the strategic direction for the organization. Reporting to the President & CEO, this individual is responsible for the development and execution of the overall communication and marketing strategy for UWPBC and works collaboratively across departments regarding programs the organization supports. The Vice President is accountable for positioning UWPBC as a proactive catalyst for community change and for directing the development of all external communications tailored to a variety of target audiences including current and prospective donors, community and business leaders, elected officials, media and more.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Lead brand experience and engagement personnel through marketing and communications alongside donor, volunteer, and community engagement in their effort to promote and support the UWPBC brand.Lead strategies for external communications, media, social media, advertising, and branded appearances to include audiences in different communication channels.Oversee volunteer strategies to grow community and corporate volunteer engagement with UWPBC to create a positive experience through service to the community with intentionality to increase organizational support.Proactively and reactively seek media coverage opportunities in ways that advance the organization's strategic goals and meet the brand within the community.Assist in creating new revenue streams for UWPBC through creative cross promotions, sponsorships and community partnerships.Contribute to the development of new corporate campaigns and partnerships.Grow the community engagement strategy through United Way events, volunteer projects, and external community events.Grow involvement and enhance the customer and donor journey through intentional engagement (e.g., smaller events, tailored communications, inspired advocacy, top of mind branding).Represent UWPBC in the media and before a variety of community groups to increase brand awareness and share the organization's impact and community support.Utilize communication strategies to make UWPBC's mission a cause people can identify with and take action to support, achieving an emotional connection with target audiences through marketing materials, events, and other communication vehicles.Develop strategies for a tailored donor experience including using appropriate tools (e.g., website, CRM, etc.).Evaluate data insights across all channels to ensure strategic goals for marketing and communication are achieved.Participate on relevant community task forces, commissions, and committees.Assist with the organization's disaster response efforts.Lead the Marketing Team to develop and execute effective strategies across multiple communication channels, including implementation of a marketing plan.Perform other duties as opportunities are presented and/or assigned.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Ability to build consensus and facilitate collaboration and productive relationships with diverse individuals, groups, organizations, and community.Flexibility and ability to work on multiple high priority projects.Ability to analyze work plans strengths/weaknesses and develop innovative strategies to maximize results.Must be flexible with changes, able to work independently, and have strong problem-solving skills.Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to successfully collaborate across departments and lead teams.Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal, meeting facilitation, and organizational skills.Proven ability to effectively evaluate, analyze and interpret data and information to advance and align strategies.Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in related field is required.10+ years of marketing, public relations, or community relations experience preferred.Experience working in a team environment, facilitating groups, and working with leadership volunteers.Hands-on expertise in marketing databases & CRM tools.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.Physical Demands and Work Environment
