We're seeking a dynamic Media Relations Lead to join our team and steer our communications to new horizons. As the voice of our organization, you'll be at the forefront of sharing our innovations, sustainability initiatives, and industry leadership with the world.What we’re looking for:The Media Relations Lead will act as a bridge to the external world, sharing insight into LR activity and building brand awareness by fostering strong relationships with journalists, thought leaders, and trade associations.Reporting to the External Communications Director, the Media Relations Lead will manage PR plans and external relationships to ensure messaging aligns with LR’s overall strategy.Working closely with colleagues across LR, the Media Relations Lead will support the classification, advisory, and LR One Ocean’s commercial objectives while building LR’s brand as a trusted adviser across the ocean economy.The role:Support the creation of strategic communication plans, devising and delivering PR activity aligned with business objectives.Manage reactive and proactive media inquiries, ensuring prompt responses and drafting stories.Prepare and dispatch press releases, working with relevant stakeholders for approvals.Manage and optimize the LR media contacts database.Track, deliver, and store PR campaigns and metrics to measure success.Collaborate with the External Relations team to produce LR’s flagship thought leadership magazine.Manage relationships with relevant external organizations and influencers.Work to heal negative events impacting LR’s brand reputation, including issue monitoring and crisis communications.What you bring:A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd's Register is highly desirable.Experience in managing and delivering strategic communication programs with measurable results.At least five years of experience in a communication/public relations environment.Knowledge of the maritime industry with a desire to foster strong media and stakeholder relationships.Ability to combine strategic thinking/planning with day-to-day execution and reporting.Strong communication skills, demonstrating a diplomatic and collaborative approach.About us:LR assists the maritime sector in navigating energy transition safely and sustainably.
