Michael Hsu Office of Architecture is an award-winning, fully integrated architecture and interior design practice with offices in Austin and Houston. Our work focuses on hospitality, placemaking, and includes diverse projects such as mixed-use developments, adaptive reuse projects, public realm design, architectural branding, single-family homes, hotels, restaurants, workspaces, and bespoke furniture design. We operate in Texas and across the country in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, and Denver.For self-starting professionals, we provide an engaging studio environment that fosters collaboration and creativity, along with competitive compensation, benefits, and profit-sharing.We are looking for an Interior Designer for our Austin or Houston office. The ideal candidate should have experience in leading projects like medium to large commercial developments, hospitality/interiors, and single-family residential.Responsibilities include:Designing projects of various scalesCreating mood boardsCollaborating on project design, translating concepts into construction documents/details, and managing construction administrationAssisting in the selection, specification, and procurement of FF&ECoordinating with consultantsWorking on multiple projects simultaneouslyDesigning and coordinating the construction of custom furniture, millwork, and lightingMentoring early career staffQualifications:Knowledge of architectural practice, including design, documentation, detailing, building materials, codes, and construction technologiesWide knowledge base of finishes, fixtures, furnishings, art & décorDemonstrated design skillsTechnical proficiency and creative problem-solving abilitiesStrong verbal, written, and graphic communication skillsAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects concurrentlyPositive attitude and team player mindsetBachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited universityMinimum 5 years’ experience in design & construction documents of single-family residential or commercial projectsProficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Revit/BIM Production, and ExcelPlease submit your resume and full portfolio in PDF format to work@hsuoffice.com.
