Prop Designer - Multiplatform (Disney Television Animation)

About the Role & TeamDisney Television Animation is looking for a Prop Designer to join our Multiplatform team! This artist will be responsible for creating and designing all assets that are not considered Characters or Background elements.What You Will DoDesign props based on story elements and script descriptions that are consistent with the look and style of the series. May also be responsible for designing effects, as needed.Design multiple concept pieces for each prop, trying out different versions of the same assetCreate turnarounds and provide a clean pass of the final approved designWork closely with production and the Color Stylist to get clean designs to them in a timely manner for shippingPrepare all prop designs for shipment to oversees vendor animation studiosWork closely with Art Director to resolve design issues and deadlinesAdhere to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely productionAdditional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contractsRequired Qualifications & SkillsA portfolio that demonstrates ability to design and create a variety of props and stylesAbility to align with style and sensibility of showKnowledge of drawing software that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D technology, where applicableAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPositive and flexible attitudeExcellent organizational and communication skillsEducationThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.The pay rate for this role in California is $53.16 to $56.94 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
