Character Designer - Multiplatform (Disney Television Animation)

About the Role & TeamDisney Television Animation is looking for a Character Designer to join our Multiplatform team!What You Will DoFurther the storytelling process by developing the look, personality and feel of the charactersCapture the personality and life of a character with their design and attireCreate turnarounds, special poses, mouth charts and expression sheets and provide a clean pass of the final approved designWork closely with the Art Director to review Storyboard for characters that need to be designed for each episodeEnsure that the high quality and style of show established by the Executive Producer and Art Director is achieved and maintainedPrepare all character designs for shipment to oversees vendor animation studiosWork closely with Art Director to resolve design issues and deadlinesAdhere to the production schedule provided by Line Producer to ensure cost effective, timely productionAdditional duties as necessary, or as defined by individual contractsRequired Qualifications & SkillsA portfolio that demonstrates expert ability to design and create a variety of characters, turnarounds, mouth charts, expression sheets and special posesAbility to align with style and sensibility of showAbility to translate references into 2D or 3D artKnowledge of drawing software that includes Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D technology, where applicableAbility to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentPositive and flexible attitudeExcellent organizational and communication skillsEducationThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training.The pay rate for this role in California is $53.16 to $59.20 per hour, which follows the pay scale agreed upon in the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
