SUMMARY: The Designer I’s primary role is to provide design and production support to Project Architects and Managers to meet scheduled deadlines. As a Designer I, you will work closely with our design team to contribute to the development of creative and functional designs for a variety of projects. This role involves utilizing your design skills, creativity, and attention to detail to bring projects from concept to completion.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:•Associate degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field•Proficient in graphic software, preferable Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc•Minimum intern experience in an architectural firm preferred•Proficient in CAD software, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation and Revit experience preferred•Ability to communicate through freehand sketching and illustration•Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong work ethic•Highly creative and collaborative•Organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure•Ability to multi-task projects and establish priorities•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites•Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong work ethic•Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally•Able to perform well in a fast-paced work environment•Disciplined and driven to meet and commit to project deadlines•Strong presentation skills•Technically inclined towards construction methods and procedures•Able to work with different personality types on a professional level•Ability to work extended periods of time on the computer•Ability to communicate with various consultants via telephone and computer•Able to build and sustain client relationships•Self-starter•Ability to interpret directions and implement the work in a timely fashion•Analytical in nature and have a propensity for problem solving•Team player•Positive service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and clientsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:•Research and gather information for:oAs-built drawings, reports, or other pertinent documents for projectsoAssist Project Architects and Managers with collecting data for zoning, building code, building materials, regulations, etc•Review contract requirements with Project Architects to understand the deliverables under each contract phase•Produce necessary plans and graphic documents at every contract phase. The documents may include construction documents, diagrams, presentation materials, studies, etc•Assist in refining and detailing designs to meet project requirements•Gather and incorporate client feedback into design revisions•Revise documents per markups by Project Architects and Managers The revised documents should be reviewed and backchecked•Compile submission packages per the contract requirements•Prepare permit packages per the appropriate AHJ requirements•Prepare bid packages per the contract requirements•Review and file construction Request for Information (RFI) and submittals•Conduct site visits. Prepare necessary documents for use in the field as directed by the Project Architects•Compile and file closeout documents per the contract requirements•Other miscellaneous dutiesoPrepare miscellaneous documents such as meeting agenda, sign-in sheet, etc. as requestedoAttend project and office meetings as requestedoPrepare meeting minutes as requested. Submit to the Project Lead for review prior to distributingoOther assigned tasks as required
