Job Title: Product Designer / UX designerJob Location: Austin, TXJob Duration: 1+ month on W2 & C2C
Job Description:WHATAs a Senior UX Designer, you'll be responsible for designing usable, accessible, and engaging user experiences for ***'s digital product line.
WHO• You'll design usable, accessible, and engaging digital experiences for the web and mobile.• You'll own and make design decisions based on a thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design principles.• You'll exercise independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.• You'll collaborate with business partners and build upon their vision using sound UX principles.
HOW• You'll be an advocate for our users.• You'll utilize a thorough and methodical attention to detail.• You'll demonstrate strong analytical skills and an ability to communicate concepts and recommendations confidently to a variety of audiences.• You'll capture requirements, design flows, wireframes, testable prototypes and fully fleshed out designs.• You'll document your designs and consult with engineers to ensure they are built and function as intended.• You'll effectively demonstrate strong problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.• You'll self-manage time and have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
BASIC QUALS• Minimum of Bachelor's degree or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALS• Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Design, Psychology, Sociology, or related field• 5-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor's Degree or 3 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of experience with a PhD• Experience conducting usability tests (including with users with disabilities) a plus• Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment a plus• Subject Matter Expertise in Accessibility (508/WCAG) a plus• Group facilitation and teaching (design thinking) skills a plus
ESSENTIAL QUALS• Subject Matter Expertise in interaction design.• Very strong verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in spoken and written English.• Ability to manage time and independently manages competing, simultaneous projects and deadlines.• Proficiency designing and developing prototypes using Balsamiq, Invision, or other industry tools.• Proficiency designing high-fidelity mockups using Photoshop, Sketch or other industry tools.• This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 3% of the time.• This position will be performed in an office setting.• The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds
