HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

This role typical reports into a Designer and is based in our Buckhead office in our in-office work environment (4 days/week in-office).

50% Design Process & Communication

Support facilitation for all aspects of design: from initial concept to final development of product

Assist manager/ Just One You team with technical tasks

Participate in all aspects of daily follow up with internal business partner, i.e. email communication and meetings

Learn the creative process as well as observing the design leaders in the day to day workings

Prepare and update Illustrator line sheets accordingly, manage silhouette numbers, update line sheets in Miro, update PLM as needed

Assist with pre-production art (review prints, graphic scale & placements, validate color chips and line sheets/BOM with supervisor and own complete process for their portion of the line)

Participate in fit process and update design sketches based on feedback during fittings

Train Interns on silhouette sketching in Illustrator and line sheet/BOM responsibilities

Build and update color swatch palettes as needed for the team

Regularly communicate progress with cross functional partners

Responsible for editing all product details throughout design review process that impact final execution of product commercialization

30% Product line Development

Sketch technical drawings in illustrator, communicate design intent, and update design cards accordingly, with direction from supervisor

Fill silhouettes with prints/art in Illustrator working line sheet, update print-outs accordingly for presentation meetings

Independently design at least one program or a portion of a program with Supervisor’s mentorship

20% Creative Concept

Research and present design and creative concepts that demonstrate innovative, brand-right creative (silos, trim & details, color, print & graphic design direction to supervisor and peers)

Prepare and request design and proto samples from Product Development & Sourcing team

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

Must have:

Has basic knowledge of garment construction, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim

Strong sense of color and aesthetic ability to interpret creative trends for the Carter’s brand

Possesses strong attention to detail and good organizational skills

Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign

Must have a portfolio

BA or BFA

Preferred skills and experience:

Exhibits inquisitiveness

Excellent communication and analytical skills

Strong time management and creative problem solving skills

Ability to work in a fast paced, creative, and team oriented environment

Ability to interpret supervisor’s direction

Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management tool preferred
