is seeking a Senior Manager of Marketing and Guest Experience. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Integrated Arts and Humanities Program at Oregon State University includes the Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx), the Center for the Humanities (CFTH), and the about-to-be-built Center for Material Cultures Research in Art, Archaeology, and Indigenous Studies. Taking direction from the Executive Director of PRAx/Associate Vice Provost of Arts and Humanities, from the Director of Humanities Initiatives, and from the Managing Director of PRAx (who is the direct supervisor), this position has overall responsibility for the ways in which all the entities in the program present to the public. At PRAx in particular, marketing and guest services are tied together by specific operational systems (CRM, ticketing software, and email marketing platforms) as well as reputationally, and the Senior Manager has equal responsibility for strategic data management, for communications, and for overseeing the front-of-house guest experience in keeping with the overall brand. The position works equally with backend data sources, public-facing marketing and communications, and directly with the public. The position requires the ability and willingness to work hands-on at events while also supervising staff and conducting administrative duties. The position requires the ability to shuttle between arts-oriented and humanities-oriented forms of communication in order to achieve the public-facing goals of the integrated program.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):Typically requires Bachelor's degree in field related to the discipline of the college, unit or department with professional communications and marketing experience.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to communications, event management, or closely related areas (English, business, hospitality, etc).Excellent copy-editing skills and verbal and written communications skills; ability to articulate complex ideas and proposals; able to move between a wide range of topics, both historical and current, always with an eye to connecting with the PRAx's audience.Familiarity with, and commitment to innovation within, digital and technological forms of communication and education.Prior experience using data, whether or not in a specially CRM-oriented context, to inform decisions.Understanding of, and commitment to, justice, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and diversity practices and to embedding those practices throughout audience, along with a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.Excellent customer service skills. Excellent problem-solving via phone, email, and in person.Ability to motivate, lead, and relate effectively to a variety of people.This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Type:The incumbent in this position will be expected to flex their schedule according to the requirements of the work. This position is distinct from that of the Box Office and Guest Experience Manager by having more explicit orientation to administrative and operational tasks that would generally be accomplished during typical working hours, but attendance at select events is an important component of the ability of this position to oversee guest relations.
