This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop diverse skills in business development and marketing within the life sciences industry as part of an innovative company “going beyond the genome” to advance precision medicine and ultimately improve patients’ lives. We are open to this position being remote or in our San Diego office.Business & Marketing Responsibilities:Assist in conducting, compiling, and interpreting timely market research to identify industry trends, competitive insights, and marketing best practices in the life sciences.Take ownership of the editorial strategy to identify opportunities to elevate awareness of Sapient among our target market; assist in pitching topics to key publications and soliciting for interviews with Sapient’s subject matter experts.Support conference logistics including coordination of shipping, travel, and outreach/promotional strategies pre-, during, and post-event.Maintain the conference calendar; proactively assess event opportunities on an ongoing basis.Help optimize and execute the social media strategy, including research into best practices, content creation, scheduling, and engagement.Collaborate with the Head of Marketing in the development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies and campaigns – including SEO/SEM, digital advertising, content marketing, and account-based marketing (ABM) campaigns.Provide support to audit and maintain marketing materials (collateral, PowerPoints, web content, etc.).Assist in Salesforce and CRM software management (data analysis).Manage legal document flows related to commercial operations, including non-disclosure agreements, masters service agreements, material transfer agreements.Serve as an important member of the commercial and marketing team.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, life sciences, or a related field.1-3 years of experience in a marketing, BD, communications, or related role, preferably within life sciences.Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.Very strong research skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to manage diverse tasks within timelines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Familiarity with the following tools a plus: CRM, marketing automation, Adobe Suite, Canva.Propensity for writing on technical life sciences topics a plus.Enthusiasm to learn and grow within the role.Sapient is an equal opportunity employer.
