Increase your chances of reaching the interview stage by reading the complete job description and applying promptly.DeLand, FLID: 1330-280Full-Time/RegularThe Assistant Director of Admissions for the School of Music reports directly to the Associate Director of Recruitment and works closely with the School of Music team to recruit, retain, and enroll the highest quality student musicians. The Assistant Director represents the University and the School of Music in all phases of the admissions program and supports the Director in organizing and coordinating the entire admissions program of the School of Music, ensuring balanced annual enrollment goals; plans and organizes audition days, scheduling all auditions and visits of prospective music students; coordinates the “Hi-Notes—Be A Music Major for a Day” program in which prospective students are paired for shadowing with current students; and maintains a database of prospective students. Organization is key in this position as it is the bridge between the School of Music and Enrollment Management. Additionally, the Assistant Director is the liaison for off-campus performance opportunities for students.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Work in a sales-like admissions and prospect management approach to a designated recruitment territory in an environment where recruiters are responsible for reaching enrollment and net revenue goals assigned to them.Manage the creation, implementation, execution, and confirmation of decisions of the School of Music Audition process.Work in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid and the Dean of the School of Music in financial aid packaging.With supervising student workers, coordinate the School of Music Hi-Note Visits and communicate with family, faculty, and staff of schedules and any changes.Work with the Dean of the School of Music and faculty on a regular basis to ensure all elements of student’s files are updated and provide faculty information on students' decision-making.Daily responsibilities include communication with a large number of prospective students through heavy phone outreach; personal e-mails, notes, individual appointments, and group presentations are also expected.Manage the planning of prospective student recruitment activities, extensive outreach, and travel.Complete evening and weekend work, extensive phone use and telemarketing, travel, and directive counseling for individuals and groups.Must become knowledgeable about all aspects of Stetson University including academic programs, campus events and activities, orientation, athletics, housing, financial aid, billing, college policy, and important dates.Through heavy use of outgoing contacts via phone, email, IM, etc., cultivate, engage, grade, persuade, and close prospective students; always qualify conversation and generate next steps (application, enrollment deposit, FAFSA, housing application, registration, etc.).Determine the best next contact for each of the hot prospects in the territory, which involves regular use of the arsenal, which comprises both printed and web information collected for this purpose and members of the campus community - i.e., faculty, alumni, current students, coaches, and parents of current students.Lead group information sessions and also meet one-on-one with parents and prospective students to provide information and assist in the application process; give campus tours.After receipt of application materials, determine and inform students of acceptance and award of scholarships.Review files for acceptance and present admission recommendations to the admissions committee; review files for scholarship.Make financial aid packaging/depth sounding calls.Perform other site and position-specific functions as assigned.Required Skills
