Position Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Design Director to lead our talented team of designers in delivering exceptional environmental graphic design and signage projects. The Design Director will be responsible for overseeing the design process from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality results that meet client needs and align with our company standards. This role will manage a team of 8 to 9 direct reports, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:•Lead and manage the design team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to 8-9 direct reports.•Oversee the development of environmental graphic design and signage projects, ensuring creative excellence and adherence toproject timelines and budgets.•Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, goals, and brand identity, translating these into effective design solutions.•Develop and present design concepts, mood boards, and prototypes to clients and stakeholders.•Ensure all designs meet company standards, client expectations, and relevant regulations.•Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to maintain the company’s competitive edge.•Work closely with project managers, fabricators, and installers to ensure seamless project execution.•Maintain and improve the company’s design processes and methodologies.•Participate in business development activities, including client pitches and proposal development.Qualifications:•Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, or a related field.•7+ years of experience in environmental graphic design, signage, or a related industry.•Proven experience in a leadership or management role, with a strong ability to mentor and inspire a team.•Exceptional design skills, with a robust portfolio showcasing a range of environmental graphic design and signage projects.•Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant tools.•Strong understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and installation techniques.•Excellent communication and presentation skills.•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.•Creative problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
