U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe.
About the TeamOur US Tech Services Data SRE team works closely with other engineering teams, product managers and data engineers to build and support state-of-the-art near-realtime streaming and batch data processing solutions and services. The Ads Data ecosystem supports both the TikTok ads platform and our internal business intelligence platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to directly impact and be part of the company's success.
Responsibilities:Design, write, and deliver software to support and improve the availability, scalability, reliability, resiliency, monitoring, alerting, latency and efficiency of TikTok Ads Data ecosystemManage day-to-day operations of data services, near-realtime and batch data pipelinesAdhere to SLAs, system deployment, performance tuning and trouble shootingBe the PoC for data integrity within datastores and perform root cause analysis on issuesWork towards elimination of toilInfluence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systemsEngage in service capacity planning, demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuningWork as part of a team serving multiple stakeholders, balancing priorities while communicating status with internal customersWork as part of an On-Call rotation to ensure the production systems are operating smoothly
Qualifications:Good understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems internals and networkingExperience writing code in Java, Go, Python or a similar languageExpertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems (Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Druid, Hadoop, Flink or comparable solutions), relational databases, caching solutions and web service frameworksExperience with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis and software designExperience developing tools and APIs to reduce manual interaction with systems and applications using a variety of coding and scripting standardsSystematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive
Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with running production grade web services at scale and understanding cloud native technologies and networkingKnowledge about a variety of strategies for ingesting, modeling, processing, and persisting data, ETL design, dimensional modeling, and cube designExperience working with Ads System
Job Information:The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $119700 - $210672 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
