This position is located in the UM Medical Campus, Health District.SUMMARYThe Director, HR Communications (H) provides strategic communications leadership, vision and direction across all mission areas, and develops strategic business goals with a specific focus on driving engagement with internal audiences. The incumbent develops strategies and messaging and establishes, manages, and implements tactics to reach short and long-term goals and priorities.CORE FUNCTIONS+ Partners with the HR Leadership Team to translate strategic goals into the development and execution of communication plans and priorities for internal audiences to increase a sense of pride and value among the workforces.+ Ensures activities, communications and materials align with the University brand and values. Provides support to the HR leadership team in the development of presentation materials and messages for events and speaking engagements.+ Develops and implements strategic internal communications tactics to achieve stated goals. Participates with HR leadership team in University round table sessions, focus groups and other listening tours to gather input, aggregate themes and integrate into HR strategic and action planning, ensuring a constant loop of feedback to employees.+ Supports the development of websites that reflect best practices in usability, accessibility, user-focused navigation, and readability. Works collaboratively and closely with UHealth Communications to ensure full alignment of internal and external messaging.+ Designs and develops employee communication programs and materials to facilitate employee awareness and drive desired changes among employees.+ Identifies and pursues transformative approaches to internal communications in support of the University’s mission, and ensures internal communications promote employee engagement and a culture of belonging.+ Provides communications support to all areas of Human Resources in the development and execution of communications related to projects and initiatives.+ Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.+ Maintains information databases, tracks, measures, evaluates, and reports achievements of internal and external communication goals.+ Distributes, as necessary, to department leadership.+ Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with external partners, such as agencies, producers, designers, writers, printers, and media to execute marketing initiatives.
