This position is located in the UM Medical Campus, Health District.SUMMARYThe Manager, Internal Communications (H) manages the development and execution of communication strategies in furtherance of the organization’s mission and goals. The Manager, Internal Communications (H) collaborates with other departments to ensure a unified message and collaborates closely with key stakeholders to align strategic objectives, ensure communications are in alignment with the brand standards, and support the overall strategic communications plan with appropriate standards.CORE FUNCTIONS+ Manages and coordinates projects through department leadership using department resources, including but not limited to content creation, creative services, web services, media relations and social media.+ Develops and implements strategic internal communications tactics to achieve stated goals. Interfaces with leadership to ensure consistency of communications across all levels and settings.+ Designs and develops faculty and staff communication programs and materials to facilitate awareness and drive desired changes across the workforce.+ Maintains information databases, tracks, measures, evaluates, and reports achievements of internal and external communication goals. Distributes, as necessary, to department leadership.+ Assists with the administration of the assigned department’s communication budget.+ Directs, implements, and monitors strategic internal communications plans and identifies strategies, messages, target audiences, budgets, tactics, tracking mechanisms and timelines.+ Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with external partners, such as agencies, producers, designers, writers, printers, and media to execute marketing initiatives.+ Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.+ Ensures employees are trained in controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities, as necessary.CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor’s degree in relevant fieldExperience:Minimum 4 years of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:+ Highly organized, creative, energetic, assertive, and professional+ Ability to communicate effectively verbal, nonverbal, and written form.+ Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure.+ Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.+ Outstanding ability to understand and follow instructions.Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
