Shenandoah University’s Office of Admission is accepting applications for a full-time, benefited position as a Coordinator for Admissions Communications on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.The Coordinator for Admissions Communications will create and provide direction, oversight, coordination, and implementation for Admissions recruitment initiatives that use communication channels to target and reach large numbers of prospective students, families, and partners. The success of this position is dependent on knowledge of admissions practices and database systems/protocols, as well as the ability to identify new trends and changing environments in collegiate recruitment. This position is strategically structured to assist SU in remaining competitive in the recruitment of first-year, transfer, graduate, and international students.The position demands cross-functional collaboration, good communication skills, strong project management skills, database and creative and technical skills, and a process-focused aptitude that will enable the coordinator to effectively execute multiple responsibilities and deliverables. The coordinator works closely with others in an effort to better understand and execute projects for all data flowing in and out of Slate CRM. The coordinator will collaboratively produce and oversee the comprehensive inventory of print and email recruitment materials developed for dissemination to specific, targeted recruitment audiences, as well as implement initiatives and projects throughout the recruitment and new student enrollment process.Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of New Student Enrollment, this position supports the implementation of the admissions strategic plan designed to identify, recruit, admit, and enroll future students at Shenandoah University. It serves as a fully participating member of the Admissions team, the Division of Recruitment and Marketing, and the entire university community.Responsibilities+ Collaboratively plan, manage, and deliver Shenandoah University brand and experience communications and initiatives, throughout the recruitment, admission and enrollment stages, to meet the university's recruitment and enrollment goals. Multi-channel delivery methods include, but are not limited to, print, email, text, and web channels. Maintain balance between long-range planning and flexible response to projects throughout the first-year, transfer, and graduate admissions cycles.+ Develop, write, edit, and proofread recruitment messaging to ensure consistent, thoughtful, persuasive and accurate messages that relate the Shenandoah brand and culture. Oversee print, email, text, and other forms of communications for prospective and admitted students, parents, counselors and other Admissions stakeholders. Communications include visual components that support written messaging.+ Plan and operationalize recruitment collateral within Admissions systems and application platforms, including Slate CRM, CommonApp, Centralized Application System apps, and Shorelight app. Oversee and monitor the execution and timely delivery of communications and campaigns, that include visual elements, to prospective and admitted undergraduate and graduate students, and other targeted recruitment audiences. Meet progress and completion deadlines for projects.+ Collaboratively develop and execute communication and recruitment plans to ensure messages for all steps in the admissions funnel leading up to enrollment. Prepare and maintain calendars and schedules for print and email recruitment campaigns and communication plans across first-year, transfer and graduate recruitment timelines. Collaborate with team colleagues for integrated communication sequences. Coordinate special mailings.+ Collaborate with campus constituents and partners to execute undergraduate and graduate recruitment and yield communications, including coordinating and approving messaging for campus partners in Slate CRM and other application platforms. Collaborate with the University Office of Marketing and Communications team overseeing production of admissions collateral that is aligned with the university Brand messages, look and feel. Collaborate with the Orientation and Advising/Transition teams to ensure communications to admitted students about orientation and enrollment steps are strategic, timely, persuasive and consistent with other yield communications.+ Manage relationships and projects with third-party vendors to meet project budgets and timelines. Collaborate with team colleagues to maintain and update third-party recruitment website information and collateral.+ Provide metrics of success for recruitment communications. Review the effectiveness of communication plans on a regular basis to identify needed changes and areas of opportunity.+ Process projects within assigned budget(s), adhering to university fiscal policies and procedures.Required Skills+ Proficiency in Microsoft and Mac/Apple environments, Google Suite, and Adobe. Microsoft Excel proficiency is preferred.+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, and demonstrated collaborative approach to project management and participation within a team environment.+ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and meticulous attention to accuracy and timeliness.+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet goals and deadlines. Ability to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and adjust to unanticipated demands.+ Ability to learn and understand the use of visual storytelling and branding—particularly as they relate to recruitment and enrollment.+ Ability to work both independently and as a team member.+ Ability to think strategically about the University’s brand identity and recruitment strategies.+ Ability to lift, move, and/or carry equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs. and to load and transport admissions materials, displays, and equipment.Required ExperienceQualifications+ Bachelor’s degree required; in Communications, English, Business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.+ Experience with content management systems, database tools, and technologies, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with college admission CRMs is preferred; Slate CRM experience is ideal.+ A commitment to inclusion, diversity, and equity in college admission and enrollment.
