As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for devising a social media plan, creating and curating high-quality journalism content, managing our social media presence and analyzing metrics to inform future strategy.As a Social Media Strategist, you will have the following responsibilities:+ Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with organizational goals and objectives (e.g. increase followers, drive website traffic, generate leads).+ Create and curate high-quality, engaging journalistic content across multiple social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).+ Identify, monitor and report on social media analytics, critical tracking metrics and insights.+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (news, marketing, communications, administrators) to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation across all channels/platforms.+ Identify and prioritize trends, best practices and industry insights to stay up to date with the latest social media developments.+ Manage social media advertising spend and optimize campaigns for maximum ROI.+ Provide social media training and support to internal stakeholders as needed.+ Supervise student assistants and/or students tasked with social media content creation.+ Participate in daily and long-term news planning meetings.+ Collaborate with leadership and operations teams of individual television and radio stations.The Social Media Strategist position is based in the College’s Innovation News Center. ou.ufl.edu/home/main-immersion/inc/About UF’s College of Journalism and CommunicationsAccredited by ACEJMC, the college has earned its reputation for excellence over the last half century on the strength of its programs, faculty, students and alumni; the stories they tell; and the difference they make around the world. Position is deemed to be an essential employee by the standards of the University of Florida, College of Journalism & Communications and the Division of Media Properties. As such, the position will be called on to potentially work nights, weekends, holidays and on-call hours as the situation warrants. Additionally, regular work schedules, that will include an equitable distribution of holidays, will be arranged by the supervisor to ensure continuous service is provided by the Division of Media Properties. Must have reliable transportation to work including during inclement weather conditions.
