Position OverviewAssist in the creation of social media content and promotions and marketing materials (both printed and digital) in the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) for both the School of Music and the Marketing and Communications office. Aid in coordinating promotional events. Update and assemble promotional packets. Provide support to senior personnel in developing marketing, communications, and/or promotional plans.

Job DutiesAssist/Coordinate content and marketing campaigns for the various College of Fine Arts and Design and School of Music's social media platforms.Assist/Coordinate the layout and design of posters, ads in trade magazines, and other marketing material for the College of Fine Arts and Design and the School of Music.Assist/Coordinate in the communication of The School of Music concerts and events with various constituencies, including but not limited to prospective students and families, alumni, community members, potential patrons, and donors.Assist with special events, projects or surveys.Assume responsibility for small projects and oversee such projects through to completion.Perform other related duties as assigned.College/Department OverviewThe College of Fine Arts and Design is a center of excellence for the arts and design, as well as a center of innovation for improving and promoting arts education. Qualifications/Experience RequiredGeneral education or vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications/Experience PreferredExperience in a higher education environment. Experience with social media content and social media marketing. Experience creating visual graphics. Experience with event planning.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Experience in music or other performing arts is preferred.Ability to use social networks to find prospective students and prospective patrons and reach alumni and connect them to current events.Ability to design ads, posters, and other marketing and promotional materials.Proficient with the most current version of Adobe Creative Suite. Specifically, InDesign and Illustrator is preferred.Ability to create database in Excel of prospective student and potential patrons and the ability create mail mergers from that list. Must be proficient in the use of most current relevant software applications (word processing, spreadsheets, database management).Excellent telephone etiquette, communication (written and oral), organizational and public relations skills. Demonstrate a warm and caring professional service-oriented attitude. Ability to multi-task and attention to detail. Must be self-motivated.Ability to operate office equipment is preferred. Additional Office Duties as assigned.
