Job Description

Parenthetic, a subsidiary of Protagonist, is seeking an Instructional Designer to develop, curate, and implement comprehensive training curriculums for both internal and external stakeholders, including customers with the DOD. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of adult learning principles, as well as the training principles used by the military. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various departments and subject matter experts to ensure training materials are relevant, engaging, and aligned with company goals. This position demands strong project management skills and the ability to design and deliver high-quality learning experiences.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, curate, and maintain training curriculums and materials for various audiences (both internal and external stakeholders), including technical content.Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.Utilize instructional design methodologies to create effective and engaging learning experiences.Design and develop instructor-led training materials, and other learning resources.Implement innovative instructional design strategies to enhance learning outcomes.Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements based on feedback and assessments.Manage training budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of company assets.Coordinate and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars.Conduct training needs assessments and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in instructional design and technology.Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Work Experience and SkillsThe position requires on-site work (occasional remote opportunities) in the Washington Metropolitan Area (D.C., Maryland, Virginia) for a Federal Government client. Occasional domestic travel may be required.Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of work experience or advanced degree with 4-6 years of work experience in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.5+ years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, or curriculum development.Exceptional project management skills, organizational abilities, problem-solving proficiencies, and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to meet or exceed expectations.Ability to communicate highly complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn about complex topics.Proficiency with e-learning development tools and platforms.Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models.Creative and technical skills to develop engaging and interactive training materials.Ideal Candidates:Demonstrated professional experience in the Space domain (e.g., space operations, satellite technology, or related fields within the space industry) and in the defense sector.Experience with relevant subject matter, such as strategic communication methods, data analytics, etc., which will be used to develop training materials.Experience serving as a trainer or instructional designer in the US military or DOD organizations.Possess a current Top Secret security clearance and be SCI/SAP eligible.Enjoys working alongside a growing group of critical thinkers, strategists, researchers, analysts, innovators, engineers, and others.Experience in a client-facing role, delivering insights directly to stakeholders.Additional Information

Salary Range: $90,000-$170,000 based on education and level of relevant experience.
