Overview:

The Senior Content specialist plays a vital role in daily task execution to achieve our clients' goals. The Senior Content Specialist must possess a nimble and diverse range of talents and capabilities in order to complete each assignment with confidence and finesse. They must also possess a willingness to learn new skills in an ever-evolving industry landscape.

Role and Responsibilities:

Task Management and Ownership:

Senior Content Specialists must manage assigned tasks efficiently with visibility for key stakeholders in Asana, ensuring timely completion and adherence to instructions provided by Strategists. Senior Content Specialists must keep Asana due dates current as things change based on urgency communicated by strategists and clients.The primary tasks Senior Content Specialists must be able to fulfill are:

Content BriefsMust adhere to all client standards, including tone of voice / brand guidelines, and should require minimal editsMust adhere to SEO best practices including competitive research and inclusion of target terms

Keyword ResearchMust be able to identify and aggregate relevant keywords and organize them based on topic clusters

Competitor ResearchMust be able to pull competitive domain metrics such as organic traffic, ranking keywords, and content strategy

Technical AuditsMust be proficient in site crawling tools such as Screaming Frog, in order to aggregate and organize a full diagnosis of website crawlability errorsMust be familiar with Google Search Console reports, such as Core Web Vitals

Reporting SupportBeing able to pull and format website traffic and conversion data according to our templates within Looker

Any additional task templates as set in Asana as needs occurStrategic Ownership for 1-2 SMB / Mid-Market accountsSenior Content Specialists also own the client relationship of 1-2 small to medium sized clients. They effectively act as a strategist for these accounts. This includes:

Strategic Excellence and Best Practices (e.g. following Customer Generation, Share of SERP).Goal Setting: Setting client goals with assistance from their manager.Internal and External Communication: Act as the main interface between the clients and the broader team.Reporting: Senior Content Specialists are expected to regularly report to clients on the progress and impact of their strategy. This includes bi-weekly meetings

Proactive Communication:

Effectively communicate with the Strategist team, reporting any challenges or requirements during the execution of task assignments in order to fulfill the tasks successfully

Ensure you are asking contextual questions and for any additional details you may need to complete a task outlined to you by your StrategistThese can include specific questions about the client itself, their industry, expectations on delivery format, etc.

Message team members and respond within working hours for all asks required to complete your work and proactively communicate regarding deadlines

Time Management:

For senior content specialists, no two weeks are the same. A successful senior content specialist will know how to manage a high-volume workload and how to compensate for low-volume workloads. Understanding their own working style and habits helps senior content specialists provide team members with accurate estimates for task completion. A senior content specialist is doing well with time management if they are:

Completing every task on time or recognizing early-on when a task will not be able to be completed by its anticipated date and notifying the senior content specialistGiving accurate estimates for the time it takes to complete a taskAvoiding personal burnout by leaning into our core tenant of "Balance is our choice" by taking PTO

Goals:Task Acceptance Rate: 95%As measured by whether completed work was presented to a client

Timeliness of Execution: 100%CSAT scores > 4.2 for their podNSM Attainment: 100% (for the clients they own)What You Offer:

Work Environment Requirements

As a remote-first company, you'll have the ability to work from anywhere in the US, with the option to enjoy our state-of-the-art offices in Irvine, California. For some positions, as posted, we will accommodate global opportunities where we have established businesses, including Canada, the UK, and Australia. For global locations, you must have established and current work authorization and permanently reside in that country.

This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer (PC or Mac available), computer software platforms, and other office productivity tools as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication, must have reliable internet access, and a professional background.
