Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY:The World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO) is a federation of 119 member societies worldwide. This position is responsible for managing high-level WGO administrative functions, overseeing WGO's social media sites, and managing all WGO communications, marketing, website, and promotions activities. This position will also oversee logistics of committee meetings and other educational activities as needed.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

(Minimum of 37.5 hours/week) :Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:With oversight from the Sr. Development and Communications Manager, manage the development of WGO communications, promotions, marketing and exhibiting activities such that these align with the objectives of the WGO communications strategy; develop outcome measurements for monitoring success of these activities.Manage all aspects of WGO's social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) including content updates, announcements, networking and outcome measurements.Manage the production of video content for WGO including but not limited to scheduling, recording audio, video editing, etc. as needed.Manage the production and distribution of WGO's annual report.Manage the editorial process for WGO's quarterly newsletter (e-WGN) and WGO's biweekly news brief (News You Can Use) as well as new publications as these are developed. This includes content, design, and production.Assist with the development of marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and development projects.Assist with the development of marketing materials for all WGO congresses and courses including but not limited to Save the Dates, banners, flyers, final programs, HTML messages, etc.Manage awareness campaigns, such as World Digestive Health Day (WDHD), including promotion/marketing, website management, and content.Manage day-to-day operations of the WGO website, specifically content to keep information accurate, relevant, and innovative; develop outcome measurements for monitoring success of these activities. Coordinate redesign processes in collaboration with oversight committees, EDI support services and staff.Work in concert with the EDI support services and have a familiarity with web-based Content Management Systems (CMS) to create desired visual look and necessary navigation for best user experience.Serve as a resource for staff needs pertaining to website training, more extensive website updates, development of new pages and email communications.Serve as staff liaison for assigned WGO committees including but not limited to the Media and Community Engagement Committee, the News You Can Use Editorial Board, and the IBD Committee.Assist committee chairs in scheduling conference calls, preparing agendas and meeting minutes, correspondence and projects, etc.Work with designated leaders to develop and manage other short-term and long-term special projects as these are identified.Provide support to the Senior Development and Communications Manager and Executive Director as needed.Other duties as assigned.

AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED:Approximately up to 2-3 weeks per year, domestic and/or international. Some early morning, evening and weekend work may be required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree preferred. Must meet deadlines and have excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Strong copywriting/editing skills. Self-motivated; able to work independently and on a team; ability to prioritize varied assignments and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills including MS Office, email software and web browsers. Prior graphic design and video/audio editing skills are desirable. Proficiency in a second language, previous association management experience and familiarity working with nonprofit boards of directors a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to walk great distances in large meeting spaces, move quickly from place to place, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee, WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an all-staff-in-office day) are a requirement of the role.
