POSITION SUMMARY:

The Audience Development Manager at Dominican University is a key contact supporting public programming by coordinating sales activity, audience development strategies, and event ticketing. This role involves making strategic decisions around marketing plans for audience engagement and collaboration with the Executive Director for External Engagement.

The department produces or supports over 70 ticketed events annually, including music concerts, theatre performances, dance concerts, lectures and films primarily in Lund Auditorium and Martin Recital Hall as well as other campus spaces.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales ManagementEstablish and execute plans to maximize sales revenue for ticketed events (not including athletics).In collaboration with Executive Director, determine pricing, membership packages, subscriptions and discounts for all Arts & Minds public programming [approx. 25+ events annually]Operate toward annually confirmed goals in ticket sales, through a variety of sales channels including but not limited to subscriptions, memberships, group sales and individual sales.Develop new strategies to improve group ticket purchases. Arrange, manage and coordinate group engagement, including collaborating with Campus Safety to arrange for bus or van parking.Audience Development

Work with Executive Director to determine marketing plan, including timing and budget, and goals for audience engagement.Assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies for current and potential patrons, including frequency and scope of email-marketing efforts.Manage and coordinate communication to DUPAC audiences via ticketing and email platforms. Ensure all material is error-free, dynamic, and approved by stakeholders.Participate in publicizing public events on and off campus.Seek new opportunities for marketing; track and evaluate the metrics of what is working and what is not and adjust process/material accordingly.Lead proactive efforts to engage and build a loyal patron base.Develop and manage social media presence through strategic planning and execution of organic content. Work closely with digital marketing service to sync plans for organic and paid content.Oversee the timely and general maintenance of all mailing lists and databases to include new patrons to aid the success of direct mailings.Box Office Operations

Establish and implement all operational Box Office procedures, including the processing and fulfillment of single ticket, subscription and group orders, payment processing, record keeping and timely, high-quality customer service.Serve as a primary liaison for ticketing needs for all university public programming and rental clients.Coordinate and supervise the arrival and departure of all groups attending school bus show performances, including bus traffic.Work collaboratively with the Office of University Advancement regarding customer service for the Trustee Benefit and other signature events.Anticipate and manage all logistical aspects of box office operations including equipment and staffing needs; develop, process and evaluate vendor RFPs.Administrator for ticketing platform (presently VBO Tickets). Load in all events, ticket types, presale codes, discounts. Manage in-person, phone, and online sales. Create venue maps for all ticketed spaces.Manage day-to-day relationship with box office service vendor.Administrator of box office equipment (computers, credit card terminals, ticket printers, scanners)Create, maintain, review and update Audience Services notebook (knowledge base) of important policies and procedures.Create and maintain patron database for Box Office Management reports and automation.Revenue Management

Responsible for accurately processing cash, check and credit card transactions, in excess of $250,000 annually.Responsible for document security compliance.Prepare and track deposits for all revenue collected per determined time frame (weekly/daily etc.).Train all student workers in proper cash handling procedures.Create custom reports as needed to track revenue, ticket type sales, attendance, marketing reach/effectiveness, student engagement, promotion/access code effectivenessSupervisory Scope

Oversee the selection and training of five (5) work-study student employees to serve as box office staff.Supervise student employees during events and be available on-call for evenings and weekends when not on site.Mentor student employees in daily office operations and customer service skills.Train student employees on the software, programs, and equipment needed to run the box office.Ensure student employees are PCI certified and remain in compliance.Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Arts Management, Marketing or a related field,2-3 years' experience in box office management and sales.Proficiency in MS Office programs - Excel in particular; box office platforms, CRM systems and email services.Minimum one (1) year experience managing social media - highly familiar with Facebook and Instagram platforms.Problem solving and troubleshooting skills; resourceful and creative thinker with a sense of humor.Reliable transportationAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in performing arts and non-profit organizations.Supervisory experience. Prior work with college students.Proven track record in group sales and subscriptions.Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.Physical Demands:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.Ability to lift, move, and/or carry up to 40 pounds at times.Salary and FLSA Status:

Salary Range: $45,000 - $52,000 annuallyFLSA Status: Exempt 37.5 hoursBenefits
