Overview:

JOB SUMMARYResponsible for evaluating and renewal of prescription refill requests following the established prescription renewal protocols and processes. Responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for prescriptions requiring prior authorization.Responsibilities:Responsible for completing refill medication request, from the pharmacy, patient or the physician, as per the refill protocol , including but not limited to, scheduling follow up appointment and notifying pharmacy and patients.Responsible for completing refill medication requests within 24 hours per patients with Commercial and Medicare insurances and begin prior authorization process for Specialty Pharmacies, request 30 day supply of medication while authorization is pending and notify the patient immediately.Responsible for completing new medication requests, as per Department of Medicine protocol in discussion with treating physician.Responsible for triaging patient calls pertaining to medication reactions appropriately and escalate to the physician or nurse practitioner. Following discussion with respective treating clinician, timely follow up with the patients with instructions or recommendations.Responsible for maintaining samples per JCAHO policies.Responsible for assuring that all practice operations are in compliance with JCAHO clinical standards (e.g. medications, Quality Assurance, charting, licensing, ect.)Maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment.Responsible for reviewing and responding to emails in a timely manner.MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEActive Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license requiredAbility to utilize insurance websites proficientlyAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to anticipate and adapt to change positivelyMust possess solid customer service skillsStrong investigative and problem solving skillsExtensive knowledge of electronic medical records system.Qualifications:
