We want participants to use their benefits as a launching pad into financial wellness, as we believe investing for the future is one of the most important things people can do for themselves and those they care about.The **Marketing Communications Manager** , Workplace Participant Marketing, is a solutions-oriented role responsible for developing content and consulting with business partners to implement effective communication strategies. This individual will report to the Specialized Communications Team Lead and collaborate closely with colleagues and client-facing teams to deliver communications that engage participants in their workplace retirement plans and support their broader financial needs. Focus areas will include working with partners to understand communication goals; evaluating available solutions; leveraging and maximizing existing content where possible; and managing the content development process, from curating, editing, and writing, to execution and multi-channel fulfillment.What you’re good at:The ideal candidate is a marketing communications pro, skilled at working collaboratively to drive multiple projects to smooth completion, and adeptly negotiating and influencing stakeholders along the way. This savvy communicator, curator and creator will demonstrate wisdom in how and when they flex each of these strengths. Inherently curious, they are constantly seeking the most efficient, effective way to cut through the clutter and inspire action. Finally, this individual will be comfortable working independently and with others, depending on the need.**Specific responsibilities include:**+ **Project management** : Lead the content development process for communication, education, and marketing materials, from creative execution and compliance approval to fulfillment via web, direct mail, email, presentations and digital signage within given timelines. Communicate clearly and use established workflow processes to set and manage expectations throughout each stage of the project.+ **Developing clear, effective messaging:** Whether curating, editing or writing content, strive to convey complex and technical topics in conversational, relatable language that encourages action. Develop communication strategies and content in line with marketing best practices, serving as an internal expert on how to best inform and engage participants through marketing tactics.+ **Collaborating with client-facing teams:** Work with Communication Consultants and Relationship Managers to deliver solutions that drive participant outcomes and support a plan sponsor’s communication and engagement strategy.+ **Driving efficiency and impact** : Advise business partners on how to most efficiently use resources to achieve goals, leveraging and maximizing existing content where possible.+ **Identifying trends to support new participant experiences** : Discover and share new content, template, and campaign needs to improve efficiency and scale while maintaining a best-in-class participant experience.+ Contributing to a culture of innovation, engagement, and fun. Actively support ongoing team evolution and collaboration._*This is a hybrid position, working out of one of our service center locations_**What you have**To ensure that we fulfill our promise of “challenging the status quo,” this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:**Required Qualifications:**+ 3 plus years’ experience developing effective B:B and B:C marketing communications.+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent marketing communications experience.+ Considerable experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro.+ Familiarity with enterprise-level project management tools such as Workfront, Jira, or similar workflow management platforms.+ Experience with financial services or other highly regulated industries.**Preferred Qualifications:**+ Demonstrated experience creating communications for qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, financial services, or other workplace benefits.+ Understanding of corporate retirement and/or stock plan industry-related compliance guidelines.+ Experience in a client, agency, and/or vendor-facing role.+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proven writing and editing skills, fanatical attention to detail, and a demonstrated understanding of marketing and technical communications.+ Ability to synthesize data, identify opportunities, make compelling recommendations, and create a plan to deliver experiences that meet client needs.+ Ability to creatively problem-solve to overcome challenges and move projects forward.+ A positive demeanor and the flexibility to operate in an environment with multiple deadlines and changing demands.+ Exceptional relationship-building skills and ability to influence and motivate people without formal authority.+ High emotional intelligence, with an inherent ability to understand when and how to “pick your battles”.**In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities****What’s in it for you**At Schwab, we’re committed to empowering our employees’ personal and professional success.
