Join a dynamic and innovative team that embraces a technology start-up mindset, moves quickly, identifies problems, creates solutions, and is collaborative and dedicated to openness.As the Senior Communications Manager, you will be an integral member of our Marketing and Communications Team, managing a diverse range of communication initiatives aimed at elevating COS’s standing as a thought leader in open scholarship. You will create and disseminate content, manage media relations, and conduct outreach to key stakeholders, including researchers and aligned audiences. This role is vital in promoting COS’s mission and supporting our stakeholders through effective communication strategies.Required skills:Strategic management and initiative.Exceptional communication, copywriting, and editing skills.Media relations and outreach, including experience with public relations and earned media software such as Cision.Content creation and dissemination.Project management and collaboration.Knowledge of brand art direction, graphic design, and multimedia projects.Experience with website development, digital content management, and UX/UI improvements.Proficiency in evaluating communication outcomes and performance metrics.Understanding of open science principles and experience engaging with academic and scientific research stakeholders.Required experience and/or degree:Bachelor’s degree in a marketing-related field or equivalent work experiencePrevious experience in marketing, digital, and creative management for a minimum of 4-6 yearsExperience with academic research, higher education, or open scholarship a plusExperience in a nonprofit environment a plusPosition Type/Expected Hours/Travel:This is a remote position.COS supports flexibility in work scheduling. Individuals who would like to work outside a 9am - 5pm Eastern Time (ET) schedule must work with their managers to establish core hours of availability.Occasional travel is possible for this position, including up to twice per year for organizational meetings, with the potential for other in-person events.
