Production Designers are responsible for creating and managing the visual aspects for the company based on the main look and feel presented by the Brand Team. The Production Designer will take ownership of their design project and lead it through its lifecycle. This is a junior/mid-level position, and will report into the current Production Designer on the Brand Team.

Duties And Responsibilities

Perform editorial input and changes as needed for packaging and labeling; exercise creative judgment when making layout modifications.Solve problems, be resourceful and adaptable.Plan, schedule, and monitor progress across a large project.Work with the Project Manager(s) to solidify and hit deadlines.Troubleshoot files and ensure that assets conform to standard procedures and make professional recommendations to correct print or digital production challenges.Understand/learn cannabis regulations per state and abide by them across all design work.Once assigned, must take ownership of a project through the entirety of its lifecycle.Ability to work quickly with exceptional and outstanding attention to detail.Communicate status of file location to appropriate staff, maintain server space, including monitoring incoming and outgoing active files and archiving completed work.Communicate clearly and directly across departments to ensure efficiency of the project.Be a good creative partner to Brand team and Manufacturing by suggesting file/format/build improvements that drive efficiency.Be eager to keep up with trends, tech updates, and latest software tricks, keep us in check in the production world.Ability to work a flexible schedule.Be able to work remotely while staying organized and on task.Collaborate, interact, make suggestions, and advocate for creative needs and processes, should they arise.Always be a team player and keep a positive attitude.

Skills

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, effectively meeting deadlines in compliance with the process.Understanding of typographic terms and styles (i.e., points, leading, picas, kerning, tracking, cap-height, x-height etc.).Strong organization skills, with base knowledge of production flow requisite for maintaining network/file management systems, naming conventions, folder structures, etc.Understanding of the print and label production processes and best practices.

Qualifications

A degree in graphic arts, design production, or relevant experience.2+ years of professional experience in industries such as service bureaus, print production studios, in-house agencies, etc.Exceptional computer skills. Macintosh operating platform required.Adobe Creative Suite expertise and agility is required.Microsoft Suite knowledge (Word, Power Point, Excel primarily).Cannabis experience is preferred, but not required.

Working conditions
