Experience, qualification, and soft skills, have you got everything required to succeed in this opportunity Find out below.In this technical role, you will be at the center of a silicon design group, with a critical impact on radio architecture, radio system performance, system integration, and physical layer algorithms design. You will develop system models of RF/analog design, radio chain modeling, integrated radio interaction models, dynamic behavior models, and assess associated impairments. You will evaluate radio performance in various application scenarios and work on architecting various calibration and correction methods for radio impairments. This role requires collaboration with HW digital designers, architects, products, radio, analog designers, and SW engineers to define and specify the wireless systems.Description In this role, core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Design radio models for the wireless communication system, RF/circuit impairments. Design methods/algorithms to alleviate those impairments through calibration, pre-equalization, canceller, and/or pre-distortion techniques.Evaluate radio performance in different scenarios through quantitative analysis and link simulation.Collaborate with radio designers to develop state-of-the-art radio architecture.Work with digital designers to realize PHY/radio algorithms with power and area efficient digital implementations.Collaborate with firmware designers to implement PHY/radio algorithms with high efficiency software implementation, and possibly with hardware acceleration.Responsible for bringing up, testing, characterizing, and optimizing real silicon in the lab.Key Qualifications

Deep understanding of RF and analog components/modules composing wireless communication systems, the possible impairments from those components, and the corresponding calibration and impairment reduction methods/algorithms.Strong understanding of communication theory, information theory, and signal processing related algorithms design.Proven track record of optimization algorithms and their applications to RF calibration.Strong analytical capability to develop best-in-class solutions in terms of performance, power, and area for meaningful issues of physical layer design.Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation.Hands-on experience in lab testing and characterization, such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, signal analyzers, power meters, etc.Knowledge of existing protocols: 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, or Bluetooth/BLE.Circuit design experience/knowledge is a plus.Education & Experience BS and 3+ years of relevant experience required. MSEE/PhD preferred.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become Apple shareholders through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
