With The Walt Disney Company, you can be part of our evolution, helping us create what's next.Ad Platform Data Infrastructure is responsible for providing a stable platform in AWS for the data engineering teams to build upon. Our activities stretch from building big data infrastructure in AWS, to defining custom deployment pipelines, to troubleshooting performance issues. We cover a wide range of tools and support these as well as the production environment. The individual we are looking for will provide leadership in all of these areas.Key ResponsibilitiesLead team planning and coordination within each sprintCoordinate with the other Ad Platform Infrastructure teamsCoordinate with Ad Platform Data Engineering to ensure proper prioritizationTroubleshoot issues between teams with respect to project initiatives and technical dependenciesTroubleshoot issues between members of their team, both interpersonal and technical in natureMentor team members and participate in their growth as engineers.Guide technical solutions to ensure they align with business needs and timelinesQualificationsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.6+ years of cloud infrastructure experience6+ years of software development experience with python, Go or Scala3+ years of big data infrastructure experience4+ years of big data infrastructure leadership experienceDemonstrable analytical/problem solving skillsGreat communication, collaboration skills and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiencesPreferred Qualification:Deep experience with AWSExperience managing Databricks environments on AWSExperience managing EKSExperience managing Spark and/or Flink on Databricks or on Kubernetes/EKSExperience with Apache Kafka and/or KinesisExperience with Apache AirflowAd Tech industry experienceThe hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA or New York, NY is between $156,300 – $209,600, Los Angeles, CA is between $149,300 – $200,200 year, in San Francisco is between $163,500 – $219,200. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
