Technical Designer

Pay Rate: $32-$35/hrDuration: 8-months35 hours/weekOnsite Location: TampaWork onsite: Tue, Wed & Thur, work from home Mon & FriApparel Design (production)Please note, although the title is Apparel Designer, this is very detail-oriented mostly production tasks.ResponsibilitiesDesign and lead development of seasonal and special event lines for all leagues working closely with Apparel Design ManagerCreate design sketches which convey body, styling, fit intent, fabric, trim, and colorCreate design sheets inclusive of yarn dye ribs and braidsWork closely with Product Development team for pattern layout of sublimation prints and art sheetsMust be an integral partner with Merchandising, Sourcing and Product Development teams to create a smooth transition between initial assets and final productsOwn communication channel with decoration suppliers & garment vendorsReceive and review submits from nominated suppliers for color and qualityWork closely with color team on all decoration color reviewsMaintain development trackersWork closely with development team to ensure design intent is carried through to final productResponsible for balancing and adhering to brand identity rules to maintain brand identityRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Apparel Design, Merchandising, or related field with 7+ years professional experience. A commensurate level of 8+ years professional in apparel design is acceptable without a degree. Portfolio of previous work required.Minimum 7+ years of professional experience requiredExperience in licensed sports preferredExpert knowledge of apparel design, fabrics, trims and construction techniquesExpert knowledge of Adobe Suite applicationsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management systemsAbility to create and execute in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environmentIndividual is able to network and have a professional and positive attitude with internal and external clients and teamsDemonstrate openness to new ideas and differing opinionsMust have strong organizational, communication, follow-up skills and attention to detail to troubleshoot, manage multiple projects, be results focusedStrong interpersonal skills enabling the individual to interact effectively with people at various levels
