Thank you for your interest in an internship with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It is our goal to provide you with hands-on experience and knowledge useful in competing for jobs in the baseball industry, beginning with Summer Collegiate Baseball. We will also work with you to fulfill requirements for college credit if necessary. Our internships are a great learning opportunity where previous experience is not always necessary. The Rafters are a part of the Northwoods League, a summer collegiate league located in the midwest. Each summer the Rafters host 36 games at Historic Witter Field and bring in over 35,000 fans through the gates.

Position Overview:

Are you a passionate baseball enthusiast with a flair for social media marketing? Join our team as a Baseball Social Media Marketing Intern and immerse yourself in the exciting world of sports digital marketing. As an intern, you will play a key role in creating engaging social media content, building brand awareness, and connecting with fans to enhance our baseball team's online presence. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports marketing and digital communication. This is no lazy summer internship! It is however, very rewarding and very memorable!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Content Creation: Develop creative and captivating social media content, including posts, graphics, videos, and stories, that align with the team's brand and fan engagement goals.

2. Social Media Management: Assist the Marketing Manager in managing and maintaining social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.

3. Fan Engagement: Engage with fans on social media, responding to comments, messages, and mentions to foster a strong sense of community and connection.

4. Social Media Campaigns: Contribute to the planning and execution of social media campaigns, promotions, and contests to drive fan participation and increase brand visibility.

5. Social Media Analytics: Analyze social media metrics and performance data to gain insights into audience behavior, identify trends, and make data-driven improvements.

6. Content Scheduling: Assist the Marketing Manager in scheduling and posting social media content using social media management tools to maintain a consistent posting schedule.

7. Trend Monitoring: Stay updated with the latest social media trends, algorithms, and best practices to implement fresh and innovative strategies.

8. Collaborative Projects: Work closely with the marketing team and other departments to integrate social media marketing with broader marketing initiatives.

10. On-Field Promotions Assistant: Assist the On-Field MC during on-field promotions, along with help script for the on-field promotions during non game days.

11. This is not an all-inclusive list and you will be assigned additional team duties to ensure a positive fan experience, facilities cleanliness, and everyone's safety.

Requirements:

Social Media Enthusiast: A strong passion for social media, digital marketing, and a solid understanding of various social media platforms.

Baseball Knowledge: A genuine love for baseball and the ability to create content that resonates with baseball fans.

Creative Mindset: Ability to think creatively and develop engaging content that drives fan interest and participation.

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with fans effectively.

Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with the marketing team and support broader marketing efforts.

Analytical Skills: Basic understanding of social media analytics and the ability to derive insights from data.

Availability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to cover live events and game days.

Educational Background:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Duration of Commitment & Compensation:

This is a 3 month (Mid-May through Mid-August) summer internship position. Compensation and academic credit options can be discussed during the interview process.
