Golden Touch is a family owned and operated wholesale apparel manufacturer with a mission to deliver trend focused products for nearly 50 years. We produce private label brands for large mass market retailers across the globe specializing in children's, junior, missy and women's apparel.
The Technical Design Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the specs and fit of the garments from initial design concept through to final fit approval for all sleepwear and loungewear. This role is responsible to ensure fit consistency and Brand standards for construction are maintained throughout.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Design and Spec Dept teams to determine fit and aesthetics for each brand.
Complete product packages in PLM, including measurements, construction details and technical sketches.Establish and maintain fit and construction standards to ensure brand consistency and quality.Prepare and lead fit sessions with Design and spec dept, discuss fit history when presenting current fit and recommend alternative methods of construction or options for components when necessary.Resolve and communicate fit and construction issues to GTI international offices, independent agents, suppliers and factories within the development and production timelines.Daily communication and follow through with vendors, and all cross-functional partners.Enhance fit and quality through review of customer comments, competitive analysis, and conducting fit symposiums.Problem solves all technical issues related to fit and execution including fabric application, construction, grading and cost engineering.Effectively communicate fit intent, balance and construction revisions to partners and Vendors via fit notes, diagrams, pattern corrections, and digital photos.Evaluate prototype samples and fit samples for measurement, fit and construction accuracy and quality according to Brand standards.Participate in maintaining consistency of technical design and product creation processes.Effectively communicate with cross functional teams to ensure calendar milestone deliverables are metSupervises direct reports daily.Requirements
• B.A. Apparel Design, Technical Design, or job related equivalent
• 5 to 8 +years of technical design and patternmaking experience
• Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making and manufacturing process.
• Knowledge of fibers, yarns, knitting, and cut and sewn
This position requires a higher level of technical, process management and problem solving skills.Adept at time management with the ability to set priorities, plan and meet overlapping deadlines.

Salary Range - $80K - $100K*
*As a private company, Golden Touch may pay more or less than the published upper limit of the pay range based on an individual's demonstrated experience and expertise in their field. The pay ranges serve as a target and allow us to consider relevant experience, time in the role, salaries of internal peers, business sector, prior performance, and geographic location.
