Position Description

Carlsmed is seeking a Design Associate to join our team. Our mission is to utilize data to create personalized surgical plans and medical devices to greatly improve the standard of care for debilitating conditions. As a Design Associate, you will contribute to developing proprietary implants, instrumentation, and design automation systems to enable personalized surgery.

Responsibilities

Import and analyze patient CT dataPerform complex 3D modeling of patient anatomy and implantsCollaborate with engineers, designers, and clinical specialists to complete designsCreate surface and solid CAD models according to specificationsWork with a design team and individually on CAD projectsReview and adjust CAD models with the customerInterface with key production and testing suppliersProduce Design Control documentationComplete job reportsOther Research and Design activities as determined by managementQualifications

Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experienceVisual-spatial skills - job requires working with complex 3D models in spaceCAD, art, architecture, graphic design, or similar experience suitableExperience in medical device sector or related field highly desiredSkills

Expertise with 3D modeling or similarAbility to understand anatomyKeen eye for detailExcellent time management skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationDesire to excel in a fast-paced MedTech startup

Compensation

We are pleased to provide a competitive salary and benefits. Our benefits reflect our investment in the overall health and well-being of our employees and their families. including paying 100% of monthly healthcare, dental & vision insurance premiums, a 401(k) plan with employer matching and generous PTO. The expected pay range is: $29-32 an hour. Compensation may vary based on related skills, experience, and relevant key attributes.
