Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.24000247Position Summary:The Assistant Director, of Marketing and Communication is responsible for developing and managing a broad range of highly responsible communications support through writing and editing, counsel to faculty, staff, and executive leadership and/or publications management and/or management of health communications/education programs.Position Key Accountabilities:Manage social media channels and digital marketing to share and promote awareness of the practice plan.Review graphic design content and written articles.Support service lines through print and digital advertising and marketing campaigns.Ensure patient letters are generated for termed providers and manage mailing, repository, and billing for this service.Review policies and procedures submissions to ensure AP Style and internal branding standards.Generates and enforces brand standard ideas for communication strategies and develops related promotional plans, tactics, and materials.Writes news and feature articles for publication, and leads commercial video and photography field production.May interact with corporate or community representatives.Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.Performs other duties as assigned.Certification/Skills:Excellent organization, flexibility and time management skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.Ability to navigate the challenges of working within a complex, decentralized University environment.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams and with immediate colleagues.Solid people management skills and the ability to create a motivational environment for team members.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field required.6 years of experience in public relations, communications, writing/editing, or related field required.Physical Requirements:Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.Security Sensitive:This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215.Residency Requirement:Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
