Our Charlotte office is looking for a strong Interior Designer to join the Higher Education Market Sector. Our next team member will have excellent communication, design, graphic and visualization skills. This individual will manage, organize, and coordinate with the design and technical project teams throughout the design process to successfully execute architectural projects.

About the PositionDevelops a thorough understanding of projects’ design vision and uses space planning, 3d visualization, knowledge of materials and common building practices to create a design and carry it through to completionCommunicates design intent, verbally, graphically and in writing to the internal design team as well clients, consultants and contractorsActively collaborates with and coordinates work of consultants to ensure the project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design conceptContributes to the preparation of design documents and detailed development of construction documents during all project phasesReviews shop drawings, material submittals and conducts periodic site visits during constructionSources architectural materials, equipment and products as well as furnishings and fabrics and assembles into a cohesive scheme that is then recorded via specification and/or in document sets. Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design10+ years of experience designing corporate, education, public, or institutional buildingsNCIDQ certification is requiredExcellent design, graphic and presentation skillsExcellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skillsExperience interfacing with clients and collaborating with Architecture and consultant teamsProficiency with design and documentation software including Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite and Enscape experienceExperience in preparing construction documents and construction administrationExperience and awareness of sustainable design practicesPossesses general knowledge of building codes and ADA guidelines as they relate to life safety and space planningTeam player with a collaborative mindsetInterest in Higher Education InteriorsAbout Our Culture
