Job Purpose: Coordinate and plan resort events, functions, group stays and activities for the Sales department. Must be able to fill the roles of Business Development Manager in their absence and assist the Banquet Manager as needed.

Qualifications:Prior hospitality experience in Sales and/or Banquets required.Must be a self-starter.Ability to create banquet event orders, negotiate group contracts and to use sound judgement and make quick decisions in stressful situations.Must possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills and be proficient in communicating in verbal and written formats to effectively interface with guests, team members.Comfortable speaking in public and greeting groups and welcoming guestsMust have computer experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products or similar applications.Flexibility with work schedule each week including evenings, weekends and holidaysLicense Requirements:

Coordinate with Business Development Manager in planning and coordination of catered events, functions, logistics for headline entertainment and group stays/activities at the resort and at off-site locations.Have working knowledge of Catering Menus, Hotel Pricing, AV equipment and hospitality industry vendors.Understand the group booking system to be able to create contracts, banquet event orders, hotel bookings, process payments and create revenue reports.Work closely with Kitchen Staff, Hotel Staff to adjust or correct banquet event orders and contracts.Communicate with Kitchen Staff and Hotel Staff to ensure that Menus and rooming lists are available in a timely manner in order to not affect the event or room block.Work closely with the Banquet Manager when requested to provide additional help to monitor and service catering events and functions. •Create Banquet Event Order with correct information and distributing to other departmentsMaintain highest degree of organizational skills with ability to prioritize to meet deadlines, communicate deadlines to departments involved in the event, while utilizing the utmost tact and diplomacy.Ensure compliance with all regulations and safety procedures.Ensure all functions within the department are handled efficiently, effectively, and smoothly.Use sound, mature judgment in the execution of all responsibilities to maximize productivity and reduce liability.Maintain guest list with utmost confidentiality.Ensure event/catering/group records are kept current.Keep abreast of competitor's events, promotions, catering, and their effectiveness.Performs all other duties as directed by Business Development Manager or Marketing Director.PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: (*Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally)
