Director of Sales & Marketing ! The hotel is scheduled to open in December 2024, offering a unique blend of modern design and European sophistication. With 194 rooms and suites, over 10,000sq. ft of meeting and event space, and a one-of-a-kind rooftop space with spectacular mountain views, the hotel is designed to cater to the needs of the local community, business and leisure travelers alike.

In this key leadership role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the hotel's debut and driving revenue growth from day one. You will be responsible for crafting and implementing innovative sales, marketing, and public relations strategies that will position the AC Hotel Pasadena as the premier destination for both business and leisure travelers. PRE-OPENING RESPONSIBILITIES:Partner with the corporate leadership team to develop a comprehensive sales and marketing plan aligned with the hotel's opening strategy.Identify and secure partnerships with key travel agents, tour operators, and local businesses to drive pre-opening awareness and bookings.Develop and manage captivating pre-opening marketing campaigns that generate excitement and interest in the AC Hotel Pasadena.Work closely with operations and revenue management to ensure a smooth and successful opening.Oversee the creation of compelling sales and marketing collateral, including website content, brochures, social media content, and e-commerce product listings.Complete Marriott’s Critical Path within all given deadlines.

ONGOING RESPONSIBILITIES:Build and foster strong relationships with key decision-makers in corporate, travel agent, and group market segments.Oversee all aspects of marketing and public relations, creating a strong brand identity for the AC Hotel Pasadena and driving awareness and guest acquisition.Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and guest feedback to continuously refine sales and marketing strategies.Manage the hotel's budget for sales, marketing, and promotional activities.Ensure seamless collaboration between sales, marketing, revenue management, and other departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience.Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets.Develop strong community and public relations by obtaining property participation in local, regional, and national tradeshows and client events.Produce and achieve 30-60-90 day forecast to be within 3%.Write and implement the annual marketing plan and participate in the annual budgeting process.Work closely with Pasadena CVB to develop partnerships and engage on business needs of the city.Organize and participate in Sales Calls/Sales Missions/Trade Shows with members of the on-property and/or off-property sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.Conduct creative, thoughtful, and impactful site inspections.Handle client concerns and obstacles. Partner with department leaders to resolve issues and gain client satisfaction.Create and analyze banquet event orders, to ensure that all room set-ups, equipment, supplies, staffing, and menus meet/exceed customer's expectations.Lead sales strategy meetings to provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.Review the Smith Travel Research STAR report, and competitive shopping reports and use other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.Research competitors’ sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.Manage sales & catering/event sales channels (e.g. CVENT, OneSource, HotelPlanner, Eventective) to achieve hotel sales objectives, booking goals, and property revenues.Manage and operate all e-commerce channels.Perform other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.Minimum 5+ years of hotel sales experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.Proficient in use of Excel, Word, Delphi/ Amadeus, and access database tools.Experience with FOSSE/Marsha, Agency360, OneSource/ CI/TY preferred.Self-motivated, and organized, to achieve goals with minimal direct supervision.Strong business acumen. Ability to analyze, interpret, and understand financial data as it relates to sales performance.
