Job Summary/Basic Function

Internship is available to current Weber State undergraduate or graduate students of all majors interested in working on project that will promote the Construction Management Technology Program. Work with department on coordinating events, flyers and marketing materials. You must possess excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills; be able to commit 10-20 hours per week; and have access to your own transportation to Weber State University Davis Campus.

Why should I apply?

You will spend 10-20 hours a week in a working office on meaningful projects taking place with the Construction Management Technology Department. These projects will introduce you to new skills and career opportunities.

Challenging projects could include researching and drafting biographical information on alumni, donors and friends of the university for use in publications.

Working with event planners and coordinating recognition events; research creative ideas and order gifts for donors; preparing donor recognition lists for signage, banners, plaques and web pages, and coordinating the ordering and placing of donor signs and banners.

Opportunities may involve creating marketing ideas, web site maintenance, drafting personalized thank you letters and be a liaison with EAST college outreach and marketing. May include compiling data information for CMT events.

Other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of one year at Weber State University (24 credit hours) and currently enrolled at WSU.

Satisfactory completion (grade B or higher) of Composition Core Requirements (6 credit hours from English EN1010, Introductory College Writing, English EN2010, or Intermediate College Writing).

Able to create marketing publications using various software.

Completion of the Computer and Information Literacy Core Requirement (2 to 5 credit hours or proficiency equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Preferred experience with Adobe suite applications.

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with a high level of proficiency with the English language.

Ability to work collaboratively with department in setting goals and defining work priorities, but also able to work with minimal supervision on assignments.
